One Gita Verse shows one Bhagavad Gita verse each day in the Android app. This website is the official landing page and policy hub for the Android app. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data.
Accessibility Service disclosure
Why we use the Android Accessibility Service
The Android app includes an optionalfeature: when you open certain apps (such as Instagram, YouTube, WhatsApp, or Facebook), a peaceful verse overlay can appear once per day to remind you of today's Gita verse.
To power this, the app may request permission to enable GitaAccessibilityService, an Android Accessibility Service. This permission is not requiredto read today's verse in the app.
- Purpose: Detect when a supported app comes to the foreground, so we can show the daily verse overlay (max once per day).
- What we read: Only the foreground app package name (e.g.
com.instagram.android). We do not read screen content, messages, or typed text. - No keylogging: We do not record passwords, keystrokes, credit card numbers, or personal messages.
- No transmission: Accessibility data is processed on your device only. Nothing is sent to our servers.
- Your control: Enable or disable anytime in Android Settings → Accessibility → One Gita Verse. The app works fully without this permission.

Daily notifications
If you do not enable the optional Accessibility Service, the app can show one local notification each day with that day's Bhagavad Gita verse. Notifications require Android notification permission on supported devices and can be disabled in Android Settings.
When Accessibility Service is enabled, the app does not post the daily notification because the verse overlay is used instead. Notification content is generated from verses bundled in the app; no notification data is collected, shared, or sent to our servers.
Local storage
Your language choice (English or Hindi), daily verse assignment, and notification schedule are saved or managed locally on your device. Uninstalling the app or clearing app data in Android Settings removes this information immediately.
Data deletion
Because we do not operate user accounts or cloud storage, deletion is handled on your device. See our Data Deletion page for step-by-step instructions.
Children's privacy
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app provides spiritual reading content suitable for a general audience. Contact us if you believe a child has submitted personal data.
Third-party services
The app does not integrate ad networks or social tracking SDKs. This website uses no analytics cookies. External links (such as Google Play) are governed by those services' own policies.
